Monica takes Gabe for a walk to the pond. Before having Gabe, Monica helped Bill on the farm but now she spends most of her time nesting.
Bill takes a break to drink water."I try not to think about me so much but to think about systems holistically. Ask not what your world can do for you but what you can do for your world -- that's where I'm trying to come from."
Monica holds Gabriel as she prepares dinner in the kitchen.
Bill says that most farming the U.S. is subsidized by the government and if you're trying to farm without the subsidies, you cannot make money. He thinks that everyone in this world is born having to contribute something specific to society and his mission is to continue to promote sustainable farming even if it doesn't pay well.
"If we follow our heart's path it's going to be rough for a while, but if we're doing what brings us joy - in time, it will take care of us. You just have to get through that tough time."
